Products

MacRebur manufacture high performance polymers, specifically designed to enhance and extend the bitumen in your asphalt. By using a unique and innovative method of recycling polymer, MacRebur products not only enhance asphalt, but are made in a sustainable environmentally friendly way to reduce bitumen and virgin polymer usage.
MacRebur products are designed to be dry mixed at your asphalt plant in the volumes you require, to avoid wastage and the need for a separate bitumen tank.

MacRebur products are in a dry, granular format that flows and mixes easily into hot mix asphalt, to provide a homogenous mix. They can beaccurately dosed via standard fiber/ pigment feed systems or manually depending on your existing plant infrastructure.

With our exciting new models, you could now make these products direct on your own site! By installing our bespoke quality control factory to manufacture your own MR6 & MR8 products on site, you could save money and be more environmentally friendly. Your MR6 and MR8 products would be made using locally sourced recycled plastics blended together with the MacRebur polymer activator.

MR6

MR6 is manufactured from a mix of polymers and is designed to modify asphalt and reduce deformation failures or increase stiffness. Typically dry mixed at asphalt plant, MR6 is used where traditionally polymer modified bitumen’s (PMBs) are specified. This might be on motorways, heavy duty base courses or where surface courses are subject to heavily loaded traffic. MR6 provides a direct replacement to virgin polymer, used in the production of PMB.

MR8

MacRebur MR8 is a binder extender, designed to reduce the cost of standard asphalt. By simply replacing a proportion of unmodified binder in any standard asphalt mix will result in significant cost savings,
a reduction in carbon emissions and a reduction in fossil fuel requirement.

ASPHALT & BITUMEN EXPERTISE

MacRebur have recently installed a state of the art polymer bitumen testing facility based at our head office in Scotland.

This facility is used for all standard quality control testing, together research and development of Macrebur products in specific bitumen sources from around the world. By working with leading academics and Universities from around the globe, we have the expertise to match the correct polymer to the correct design. As part of a wider Macrebur network, all of our manufacturing partners have access to this expertise.

MacRebur have world class bitumen binder testing facilities which are made available to customers to assist them in meeting local Government approvals and testing criteria. Macrebur currently hold and have demonstrated this test data for 18 countries worldwide.
MacRebur products comply to BSEN standards 13108 Part1 (Asphalt Concrete), Part 4 (Hot Rolled Asphalt and Part 5 (Stone Mastic Asphalt) as they are categorised as additives.

ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS

MacRebur have a vision of every country in the world, manufacturing MacRebur products using their
own waste plastics, resulting in a reduction in the dependency on fossil fuels whilst improving the quality of their roads.

Extensive Carbon Emission research shows the process of adding MacRebur products as a binder extender reduces the carbon emissions from traditional surfacing
